The only difference is if there is stress on the connection. I remember after first putting up my tower, in the middle of a contact with a guy in Japan on 20 meters, his signal dropped suddenly and precipitously. The problem? The damn crimped SO-239 connector from my Radio Shack coax let go. No crimped connectors for outside work any more for me.
