As previously suggested, make sure your browser is up when you uncheck the 
option.

My language detect option is un-checked, and Jaws still reads the web site
in German or something like it.

So, at least for me, that strategy did not work.

Hi:
You can view the site in English with JAWS by unchecking the language =
detect change setting. The easiest way to access this setting is to = press
insert v, type in language and press enter to show the search = results. The
setting you want to change should be the third one in the = list.
