most of the software runs in DOS but honestly, though they say you can't do 
it, I programmed my Kenwood TK-880 I got for GMRS and stuff in a DOS box in 
XP and I managed to get through it no problem. Took me a few minutes but I 
did learn it and program it myself. I haven't tried anything else yet but I 
hear they're mostly similar to that.
