FRS stands for family radio service. THey run on 14 designated fm
channels on 462 and 467 mhz. The literature says range of 2 miles, but I
seriously doubt it. They are low power, don't remember how much. Basicly
a uhf fm talkie with pl tones. NOt bad for $20 and fm broadcast receiver
as well.
