Hi all!  I had the R5 and it was the best multi-band vertical I have ever
used.  The nice thing about that antenna is that unlike most multi-band
verticals, it uses the whole antenna on 10 meters, and actually has some
gain.  I wouldn't ever use a ground mounted vertical on 10, because most
of them trap out everything but the bottom 8 feet, so you basically have
a quarter wave ground plain, sitting on the ground!
