hold it I've never heard that radio beep. Is there a setting I've overlooked?

Darren,

I have the same battery, and I get about two to three hours of steady
talking at full power before the radio dies, at which point I charge the
battery. Unfortunately, you won't get any warning when the radio is about
to fail. The radio just quits. However, since this is not a NICAD battery,
you don't have to wait until it is drained before charging it. It takes
between 4 and 6 hours for the battery to fully charge, and the radio beeps
when the charge is done, but you have to be right there to hear it.

Steve
