What I'd really love to find is something that would actually be a
functional replacement for my 21 year old stereo receiver. Of course I'll
never find such a beast because this receiver has tape in/out, a set of
jacks for a CD player, and a set of jacks and a ground lug for a turn
table, and of course I have every jack populated. Yes I still use all
those ancient technologies--I even have an TEAC solenoid operated open reel
deck that I bought from a station engineer at the local public television
station.

But if I could have my wish, I'd love to be able to do HD, yet still have
access to that old stuff
. I guess I shouldn't knock the existing equipment--that receiver has
never given me a minute of trouble.
