And not all brick takes to mortar as well as one might like.  That's why we
do bond tests, Ward.

And isn't it bad form to quote yourself, even if you are the Paper of Record?

And personally, I wouldn't lay an EIFS cornerstone with a 10' Litvack wearing
four condoms, although you could probably transport an EIFS cornerstone using
one helium-filled condom.   Maybe that's the only thing that can be said in
defense of EIFS--they're not heavy.
