Leah,

The B12 issue is always a concern for people who stay away
from animal products. This problem has been discussed quite
a bit on this list in the past, and you can find good
informatio in the archives.

What Alan told you in his last post is mostly incorrect.
(Alan seems to really _need_ to have other people eat the
same way that he is trying to eat, for some reason. He just
seems to want to convince people of a lot of things that
don't make a whole lot of sense, and may even be dangerous).

In any case, here are some things you can read, about B12,
that'll answer a lot of the questions you asked.
