Kelly,

    First off, if you are considering a dual processor MB, the operating
system you are planning to use must be scalable.  In other words, if you
plan on using Win95, you will not see any performance benefit using dual
processors, as Win95 will only recognize 1 processor.  However, if you plan
on using NT, you would see a performance boost with multi-threaded apps.
Secondly, you are right about older MBs having cache on the board.  But, a
Pentium II comes with 512K cache onboard, so no, you won't find any on the
MB.  Third, it's a good idea to have a heatsink and a fan with any CPU.
Some OEMs package the CPU with a heatsink and fan, some don't; however, you
can get a Pentium II heatsink and fan for about 15-20 dollars.
