Well everybody, Massena Gump died this week. He's reportedly the guy who
invented a particular type of portable privy which satisfied the
then-brand-new California law requiring facilities at construction sites.
Apparently Mr. Gump made millions supplying grades of port-o-potties to
construction sites, from the basics to VIP, air-conditioned models. He
died on the 10th at age 68.
Mea culpa-- I got this from an email list I subscribe to, "This is True"--
it's a run-down of the more absurd stories which popped up in the previous
week's new reports. Randy Cassingham (the compiler and commentator) has
lately been adding an "honorary list Unsubscribe," which was given to M.
Gump this week. If you'd like info on This Is True, ask me back-channel.
