Which meter had that provision for adjustment? How much lower would you
guess your readings were? All that use the glucose oxidase chemical
reaction to measure glucose will depend to some degree on the oxygen
concentration in the air, hence altitude. Less oxygen, less reaction
product gives lower reading. Most strips used today do use this reaction
and should all be adjusted. (Read the package insert.) Fortunately, given
most don't warn you about this, many are switching to the hexokinase
reaction. Hopefully that doesn't use oxygen.
