Both George and Ken have brought up some wonderful points on this issue.
Because these are in response to something that was originally posted on PL, I
think sending it on to PL would contribute to that list's discussion.

However, BP is small and fairly freeform, and I don't want to send anything
that the poster didn't intend for larger circulation.  We've had some very
interesting discussions by cross posting among lists -- BP, PL, Forum-L, 2
land use law listservs, and art and architectural historians list, and
alt.architecture (only on occasion, when you can penetrate the spam), to name
a few regulars.

Maybe somehow you could let me know if you think it's OK to post elsewhere, or
maybe you would prefer to copy your responses to <[log in to unmask]>
(or the original sender) yourself.
