The AWARD tech I spoke to told me the same, a busted keyboard controller, so
I'll go for this. The controller is a BEST Key 96121-3H. Where can I find
it?

Regarding IR I want it for 2 palmtop computers I have. This is what caused
the problem,  I plugged the serial mouse in a PS2 connector. I was trying to
free the serial com port 1 for the device.  I have seen the serial IE
connectors, but they do not solve the problem, as they take a serial port.
