Hi,

I am having a problem installing a modem in a PBell Force 4650--pentium 120
system. Originally it had a sound card/modem combo board--Aztec. I
replaced the
sound card with a SB 16 and it works fine. However, when I try to manually
install a modem(have tried several), the computer refuses to let me have
whatever comm port I jumper the modem for. For example, if I jumper comm
1, I no longer am given comm 1 as an option in the Install New Hardware
feature in W95. Same result for comm 2,3 or 4. Really strange and I have
never run into this before. A friend advised me that I would have to
replace the original sound/modem card but this really doesn't sound right
to me. Any help appreciated, TIA

Edna Sloan
