Well,

I guess, from experience, that bananas don't cause health problems to
humans... Probably the proteins, sugars, etc. in those fruits are close
enough to what humans have encountered.

As for fish, it's possible that most humans lived near the seashore or
near rivers. Humans couldn't swim for so long if they hadn't been in
contact with water for some time.
