That's the way I remember it. In this case, though, the original
structure -- a long, narrow classical temple style building with porticos
at the ends -- occupies all of the ground and is visually dominant from
the street. The circa-1910-ish tower only occupies the middle third or so
of the roof, like a rider perched on a horse.
Of course, it's been years since I last saw the thing, so I could be
remembering it wrong.
