I'm also allergic to nectarines, plums, peaches, and apricots, but on a low
level. One nectarine will make my lips tingle (in a negative way) and feel
swollen -- definitely an allergic reaction. I don't eat plums much, as
they make my throat constrict; apricots are even worse in that respect. I
used to get hives from eating peaches, so I don't eat peaches anymore.
Almonds are in the same family, though, and I eat a lot of almonds with no
adverse reaction that I can see.
I know that peaches and the peach family of fruits are standards on allergy
tests (the skin-prick type), so it must be a common allergy.
