We just got home from the lactose test. It was extremely POSITIVE! So now
he has to eat lactose free for a month and then we see the MD again and
figure out if and how to add back milk products.

I decided to let him resume eating wheat, etc., during this month to see
if his symptoms return. He has not had diarrhea for the past week or so,
even eating dairy. If he eats wheat and gets diarrhea while he is lactose
free, I will know for sure that he should avoid gluten foods. I got a copy
of the blood test that was done for celiac and it was clearly not
positive. It was done at a good lab in California, and they tested for
all the right antibodies. I know, however, that he can be sensitive to
wheat and not be celiac. I think *I* might be wheat sensitive myself! I
had 2 servings of bulgar wheat yesterday (two different times, and it
isn't something I regularly eat) and both times got bloated and
gassy...almost immediately!

So now it's another few weeks of waiting and watching. Thank you all for
being there...I have gotten such wonderful and supportive posts from so
many of you.
