Mike,

Although I did the recent update  at the high rate via the USB 
connection, most of the stuff I run is via the serial port at 9600 and 
no problems.

The SWR will read in SSB.   Be sure you are putting some solid audio 
into the mic.   Of course it is just as easy to check SWR in CW or FSK mode.

Toggle the meter button until it says "R" to read SWR.
