oh come on, with the conversion about 3 grand?  for an antenna that would 
provide years and years of enjoyment?  Seems not so bad really.
I know lots of guys who spend way more than that on their remote control 
helicopters, tonnes more on their motorcycles and cars and trucks and back 
deck and front lawn lol.
I know some who spend that much in a month just eating out...and we all know 
what the final outcome of that is lol.
It's just money, and you can't take it with you.
