It may have been the same station, but yesterday there was a ZL from the 
South Island of New Zealand just below 14.258.   While he was fairly 
strong, it was the stations from the central USA calling him that tore 
things up for me.   I kind of stayed in listening mode for a while until 
he shut down and I was able to get  a little more involved in the back 
and forth on the net.
