Howard,

I bought a slinky antenna (the larger one that can do 160)at Dayton this 
yearbut have not had a chance to try it yet.  If I remember, it is only 
necessary to stretch it out to about 35 to 40 feet.  You need to string a 
rope through the center to support the coils.  If it is stretched out much 
further, it will not collapse back to its normal shape.

I have also read mixed reviews on this type of antenna but I am anxious to 
try it.
