In reference to Gale's needs  this is his answer.
The Simple linear amplifier  I use is 300 watts am and 500 watts  ssb it is  a RM Italy the Model number is HLA-300V, this is a solid state, no tubes.

what is real nice  is that you can use  as low as 2 watts to drive it on  bands 160 to 10 meters.
