Hi Tom and All,

I am proud to tell you that I did the last upgrade from 1.03 to 1.04 on my
own with no sighted assistance. I'll go look at the 1.05 upgrade and check
it out this weekend.

I did notice something cool on the last upgrade. Before, when you did the
complete reset after the upgrade, you lost all memories and settings and had
to reload them from ARCP-590. This time, I didn't seem to lose my settings
which was really cool. I'll see what happens when I go to 1.05 if I do.

Take care all and very 73.

Kevin :)

Subject: TS590 Firmware Update: Has Anyone Tried It?

Hi, all.

You may recall that, last week, I posted a link to what apparently is a new
Firmware upgrade for the TS590. It is version 1.05.

http://www.kenwood.com/i/products/info/amateur/software_download.html

Does anyone know what you gain from the upgrade, and if it's worth pursuing?

Currently I, and I assume many others on the list, have version 1.04.

If you ask on the TS590 list, you get a response suggesting that: "you have

to be crazy not to update, since it's just like getting a brand new radio
out of the box."

While I suppose this is true, I personally am not one who always goes for
the latest upgrades, just because they are out there.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
