Hello, all.

I would like to try updating the firmware in my two TS480's, and I have
everything I think I need, including the straight-through serial cable to
connect the rig to the computer.

However, in order to allow the update to occur, there is a switch I need to
activate inside the rig so the firmware update will actually be
installed.

Can someone tell me exactly where that switch is, and how to safely get to
it?

Also, I think I know how to check for the current firmware version that I
have, but I don't know if the VGS1 announces the info, or if that would
require sighted assistance.

Obviously, I don't want to risk messing anything up in the radios, so any
step-by-step instructions from someone who has successfully done this would
be appreciated.

Thanks, and 73 from Tom Behler: KB8TYJ
