Subject: Ham Radio With Morse Code For The Blind.

Mike:

I do ham radio with Morse code and I am an active member in the
Straight Key Century Club. The SKCC is an internet based club which
does ham radio using simple mechanical keys to produce the Morse code
as it was in times past.

The club has monthly contests and for people to get involved in that
they need to keep a log of their work. Since I also write computer
programs for a hobby I have written logging software tailored to the
requirements of our club. Back in February I was contacted by a club
member who is blind and was having some difficulty with my software.
After a few email exchanges I realized that it would be best to write
a new program from the ground up and address the difficulties a blind
person is faced with.

After a few weeks I got the program to about 85 percent complete in my
estimation and the club member I was working with backed out of the
project because of time demands at his job.

I have since found someone else to do some volunteer testing but
nothing has come from that yet.
So I asked friend Bruce if he could find some leads for me in hopes I
could find someone to work with me on this project. Here is what I am
looking for: a blind ham that does CW (Morse code) as a regular part
of his/her ham activity; and is currently a member of SKCC or willing
to become one so they know how the contests work and what the
requirements of the logging software are.SKCC is run by volunteers and
is completely free. Information is on the internet about it.

So if you think you know of someone that can help me have them send me
an email [log in to unmask]

Thanks.
