Meir,

Thanks for this! one thing US citizens (with or without disabilities) can
do to encourage world wide disability rights is to write their senators and
encourage them to vote to ratify the UN Convention on the Rights of People
with Disabilities when Senator Reid brings it up for a vote again.  It
failed in December by 6 votes based on misinformation put forth by
opponents who knew (or should have known) that the information they were
spreading was false.
