If the AVM can successfully be treated at minimal risk, I'd say treat it.
The cousin who passed away in March from a stroke/pulmonary embolus, wife
died from an AVM that if found before it bled the first time might have been
addressable through Gamma knife ablation.  After Nancy's first bleed, there
wasn't much to do but sit and wait for the next one...
