The one time I was near one that arced, you could hear it. Luckily it wasn't
mine and I wasn't the one using it, but that's what can happen when you tune
an antenna with a kilowatt, that's a good reason auto tuners won't tune with
more than a certain amount of power in to them. I imagine the mfj tuners
that arc, that's probably why in a lot of cases, tuning with too much power.
I cut mine back, way back when I tune, and no amp until I'm all tuned up.
