Should I get a static IP address for an extra $5 per month?

I am thinking about changing ISP's and the new one offers a static IP
address.

I now use my satellite 1.5Mb/sec service for general email and software
updates, including games. It is a little slow for things like Youtube
or live TV broadcasts, I think.

I am thinking about moving to an over-the-air service (Pixius) at
4Mb/sec. If I do this, then I may subscribe to Netflix and stream
videos, or do all sorts of other things that the added bandwidth will
provide.

Why would I want to spend $5 for a static IP address??

Thanks,

Dean Kukral
