that RFI sound that your hearing isn't actually RFI, but the absolutely
horrendous processer in the ts570.
It has one of the worst speech processers i've ever heard in my life. It's
just terrible. Its very distinctive because its got that raspy RFI sound to
it on the air.
Anyone who runs the ts570 and cares about their audio should keep that silly
thing turned off at all times.
That is one thing icom and Yaesu have over kenwood, is that their voice
processers do sound pretty good. Especially the icom processers in the
7000, 746 series and 756 series.
That is usually what you are hearing when you hear that distinct icom boom
over the air.
It essentially boosts up the low midrange frequencies and reduces the really
high end freqs. This makes the audio punchy and allows all the power from
your voice to drive the radio.
