Tom,
I think there is such an animal as a picture hook with velcro on the back.
If there isn't, I'm pretty sure you can find one that has an adhesive back.
If you do, you can stick the adhesive to the piece on the back of the mic
that normally goes into the mounting bracket. Make sure the point of the
hook faces toward the bottom of the mic, and you can then drop the pointed
end of the hook into just about any loop you can find, or even over the lip
on the top side of an ashtray if you have one, or the top edge of the glove
compartment. The hook should stay attached to the mic, and it won't get in
your way when you grab the mic to talk.
