Do what, Gary?  Both of my g5rvs are just attached with no cores.  Besides, even
those with cores at the antenna will stilol show measurable rf at the opposite
end of the ladder line.  That's why the choke is down there rather than up at
the antenna.  However, most of the ones I've seen and all of the ones I've made
have no core at the mid point of the antenna.  I have two up now (one with
copper wire and the other with coax) and neither has such a configuration.  One
of mine is hime made and the other is not.
