I'm way behind on e-mail, so perhaps this has been answered.  I have both 
rigs, and the 480 actually speaks better than the 2000.   As I recall, 
power levels speak, as well as the pl tones.  I can't confirm this as min 
480 lives back in Kansas so I have hf there when I go back home for a 
visit.
