The voice chip in the 480 is also a recorder.  One thing it has is a 
"black box" mode.  You can just let it run and it always has tthe last 30 
seconds or so of audio.  You can stop and replay this any time you want.

I think the xmit zudio is o.k., although all I've ever used on mine is the 
stock mike.
