Hey Vinny,
How about the scripture in Deuteronomy 21 that says, cursed is any 
man who hangs on a tree.  You could tell your wife that, when you 
wear a tie, you run the risk of getting caught on a tree branch by it 
and suffering the wrath and curse of God.  Hmmm, admittedly, it is a 
bit far fetched, but you could try it anyway.  It might work.
