Yes, we set off an A-bomb but we are really sorry about it.

I just don't have any scary stories to tell. I do have some stories of how we used the scaffolding or lift in some unusual manner to get what we needed.

There's the Kirk in the Hills story, which you may rememeber, Ken, as we presented together at an early Traditional Building conference in Baltimore. In that case, the scafolding, lifts, and rigging defined the restoration project, and everything worked like a charm.

I also have a favorite of surveying in horrible weather in November in St. Louis. We used 2-way radios to transmit the information between me in the lift and my assistant with the drawings on the ground. I sounded like a dentist, using code numbers relative to location and condition of each stone, that fortunately we had drawn with accuracy in advance of the trip. Now, each time I go the dentist, I'm reminded of that trip, as she calls out 2-2-2 or 3-4-3 to her assistant who notes the condition of my gums in her log. Same deal, I'd say.

Moral of that story: plan ahead for worst case scenario, because it will happen...occasionally.

Turkey was good and we have leftovers.
