When we ask each other to pray for us do we not pray to each other? Of
course we do because to pray means to entreat. We pray to each other all
the time when we ask for things. When an accused is in the dock, he may
pray to the judge for mercy. When I pray, I talk to God the angels and
saints just as I talk to you. I ask them to interseed for me to the lord
for something for which I might need clarifying, or for assistance with a
problem I might be having that I might better be able to handle it. I have
asked the virgin to please help me to understand the pain I felt when my son
was doing all sorts of bad things and to speak to his heart, as she spoke to
those at the wedding feast when she told the guests to do whatever her son
told them to do. She did this, as she is my mother too. I have asked you
to pray for me and you have as well.
