Pastor Mark,
I wasn't joking about the gaiderade. A doctor told me a few years
ago that when you have an upset stomach, you should drink a sport
drink rather than water. When you are sick, and are losing fluids at
either end, (GRIN!) you are also depleting your
electrolytes. Anyway, if you drink water to try to replace your
fluids, you dilute them even more and can actually send yourself into
shock if your situation is bad enough. Sports drinks replace the
balance almost immediately and it is absolutely amazing how fast the
recovery occurs. With my kids, they can recover in hours. Give it a
try! It can't hurt.
