I never cooled an HD to try to get it to initilize "one last time"

Do you stick them in the refridg or the freezer, and for how long...
(I'm scanning it now with Acronis RecoveryExpert.)
It came up in about three diagnostic programs as un-readable.

It is an old Compac/Quantum 10G from an old ladies machine
with Win98, and data recovery is not "critical".
