I've known people to do that with icom equipment, don't see why it wouldn't
work with Kenwood.

if kenwood doesn't, it wouldn't be difficult to go to a local computer
supply store and pick up an appropriate length of networking cable, of
course, the well shielded quality kind, and use a female to female adapter
to connect the mike...you could get it for i am very sure a far cheaper
price then what kenwood would charge you for an actual adapter cable for the
rig.
I assume there are no funky differences with the rj45 mike plug and the pin
in/out on a regular networking cable? Seems to me everything would just
line up and go right through to the rig.
