My ladder line is 27ft and each leg of the cable is 52ft for a total of 104ft.
I believe those are the original measures for the system.  I have a balun on the
end of the ladder line with a 50ft piece of rg8 running to my rig.  The upper
end of the ladder is attached to thte two piece of rg59 with something that
looks like a balun but is really just a fancy cap that connects the cables.  I
know some folks who run the ladder line directly to their rigs but you tend to
have more rf that way.
