Hi Colin.

That is correct.  You can set all of the settings for the radio including
programming PLs, loading memories, setting offsets, everything.  And, you
can store those settings in files in your PC.  It makes it possible to have
multiple files so that you can set your radio up if you are traveling to a
different city, yet, by uploading the file with your original settings, you
can put everything back in a few seconds.

The software takes a little getting used to.  It isn't completely
intuitive, but it works well with JAWS, so once you figure out their
terminology, you can do everything.  I have the cloning software for the
Icom T7H and I love it.  My sister has the Icom T2H which is kind of the
predecessor to the V8, and it works great for loading her radio up, too.
