I actually have found the dool receive to be helpful in some instances.
Here at the hospital for example we get a cod red I take my THF6A and
listen to both the security freq, and the Detroit FD frequency at the same
time rather then a priority channel or jumping from freq to freq.  When I
lived in an area with a cab company and a repeater with the auto patch
which they are far and few in between in the Detroit area I would call my
cab using the patch and monitor the company frequency at the same time and
when I was transmitting you don't have to worry about being distractid
from them dispatchin g other cabs.
