This isn`t an orifice, it`s help with fluorescent lighting.

That type of casement was discontinued and then recontinued, I think because
they were rotting out so fast that people needed then to repair their homes.
I would bet that your sliders are Andersens also, but no longer available.
Check the hardware carefully for markings. Go to your family run, small
lumber yard with a good picture and look for the old guy in the back. Check
