I am a father with 2 youngs kids raised on raw paleo ( 6 and one and half )
and am in charge mostly to feed them .the older have been nursing till 4
years old and the youngest is still for a while .
they had access and ate solids foods as soon as few weeks .ALl the ones we
eat ourselves, made available to them by chewing for them ( some concerns
if you have bad teeths about creating unbalanced in mouth flora but
mechanical device can replace it despite it is not so good because not
salivated )
way before having any teeths they were avidly sucking out all the essence
of a piece of jerky, fresh meat or whole dried shrimps leaving a tasteless
squeletton , or eating chewed nuts .
we didn't get concerned about allergic reactions to new foods because the
way the food was presented to them raw undenatured and NOT MIXED or
seasonned allowing the instinctive regulation to play its role .
The choices of type of foods was theirs .my role was to make available a
wide choice.
when some mental blocks started to appear about certain type of foods (
learned by watching other adults faces ) like a piece of brain or liver i
started to make pemmican of dried powdered meats or organs mixed with bone
marrow or brain . a raw treat they just love .As a baby they could eat
anything without any preconceived ideas chewing on a beef bone with left
over meats for ex ( interesting picture , it made , worth to send to vegans
that believe that naturally a kid will not want to eat a bunny).

the process of weaning is best if done on demand from the child and so very
gradually .As long there is good foods available it is done painlesslly and
willingly ( my son nursed till 2 days before the birth of his sister when
he decide it was her turn , he never looked back )

most surprising to me was to see them still having no attraction to cooked
foods of any kinds despite they are exposed daily to it ( other members of
the familly are eating cooked and not necessarelly paleo or even "
healthy"). they just don't consider them as foods .The only thing that the
yougest who are amazingly curious and adventurous did tried and want more
of is fish oil capsules she love to chew on and spit out the gelatine .

i am willing to answer more precise questions
