There are some important meetings coming up in regard to labeling and the glutent content of foods under the Codex Alimentarius. 

1. Codex Committee on Food Labeling  which will be in Ottawa Canada, April 28th -May 2,.On the Agenda is Consideration of Labeling in Draft Codex Standards. 

2. Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Diets Germany , November 3-7. On the Agenda. Draft Standard for Gluten Free Foods.

The United States Government  participates in the Developmeny of the Codex which is a joint project of the FAO/WHO through its delegates to various meetings.

Any U.S.citizen can be placed on the U.S. Codex Mailing List. You can also submit comments and provide information.

To obtain the form to get on the mailiing list which can be e-mailed Faxed or mailed.

Does anyone know if any of the major organizations is working with the U.S. Codex office? 

 One of the major food producers organizations National Food Processor,s Association's Regina Hildwine  was an advisor to the U.S. delegation for the Meeting of the Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses when it met in Germany in 1998.
