Jonny,

If you've read the list much in the last couple months when this topic was
discussed, the general feeling is both are very accessible.

The difference is features, performance, and complexity.  The 570 doesn't
have as many features, and doesn't have VHF/UHF capability.  It also doesn't
have the number of bells and whistles etc. that the 2000 has.  The 2000
probably has a better receiver, and more capability as far as signal shaping
and filtering through DSP.

On the other hand, the 570 costs half as much.  Just depends on what you
want and how much of a hit you can take with the Ben Franklins.
