Let's broaden this discussion now that the concencius seems to be for the Kenwood 707 to include accessible multimode rigs dua band l or not.

I could be in the market for one of these (probably a single bander) for home.  I would prefer to get rigs that can be paired like the 271 471 pair from Icom but as these did not have voice, are likely not to be on my list.  I seem to recall that Kenwood had a 711 811 pair with speech but they apparently did not last long in the product offering and I never found anyone using one as most folks were Icom at that time 18 years ago now.

What are hot radio today in this area?
